NMR structures of damaged DNA

Article Abstract:

The NMR spectroscopic studies characterize the solution structure of short DNA duplexes having nucleotides that result from physical or chemical reactions. The structure of the damaged DNA shows that damages cause perturbations at the lesion site and flanking base pairs and that lesion-induced stability effects are explained in terms of gain or loss in hydrogen-bonding interactions at the lesion site, due to the NMR ability to observe the hydrogen-bonded proton signals.

Characterization of the fast dynamics of the protein amino acid side chains using NMR relaxation in solution

Article Abstract:

A focus is presented on the use of solution NMR methods to provide fast sub-nanosecond dynamics of protein side chains. A survey of basic observations about side chain dynamics derived from NMR relaxation studies is presented along with several analysis meant to dispel commonly held by apparently inaccurate correlations between dynamics, correlations and function.
