Mechanochemistry: The mechanical activation of covalent bonds

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to give a survey of the classical works in mechanochemistry and put the key mechanochemical phenomena into perspective with the results from atomic force microscopy and quantum molecular dynamic simulations. The peculiar characteristics of mechanochemistry can be identified on the basis of the experimental and theoretical results.

Theoretical exploration of ultrafast dynamics in atomic clusters: analysis and control

Article Abstract:

Analysis and control of ultrafast processes in weak fields and in gas-phase elemental clusters with binding energies beyond those weakly bound van der waals clusters are described. These processes require unifying interdisciplinary aspects from quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics, wave packet propagation and theory of optical control.

Ultrafast dynamics of carotenoid excited states-from solution to natural and artificial systems

Comparison between the investigations of carotenoids in solution, protein complexes and artificial systems is performed for reviewing the current knowledge of excited-state dynamics of carotenoids. Carotenoids in solutions as well as in light-harvesting systems are studied.
