Structurally diverse pi-cyclopentadienyl complexes of the main group elements

Article Abstract:

Results of studies have determined series of complexes supporting one, two, or three pi-bound cyclopentadienyl ligands for most main group elements. Interactions are found to be flexible and promote fluxionality. The solid-state structures often support intermolecular interactions that are responsible for polymeric arrays with micron-Cp ligands. The studies have also shown that nonbonded attractive interactions between the Cp ligands are significant in bis(pi-cyclopentadienyl) complexes.

Structural chemistry of bismuth compounds: I. Organobismuth derivatives

Article Abstract:

A discussion of the formal oxidation state of the bismuth atom and the nature of the bismuth-element bonds is presented. There have been some significant achievements in the structure chemistry of organobismuth compounds over recent years, including an optically pure diorganobismuth-(III) halide.
