Studies with polyfunctionally substituted heteroaromatics: synthesis of new heterocyclic aromatic amines as potential intermediates for preparation of dyes for thermal diffusion printing

Article Abstract:

Polyfunctionally substituted heteroaromatics have been studied. New heterocyclic aromatic amines have been synthesized. These compounds are potential intermediates for preparing dyes for thermal diffusion printing processes. Several new dibenzopyrans and some novel thiadiazaacenaphthenes have been prepared using 4 + 2 addition of thienocoumarins and thienopyridazines to electron-poor olefins. This research was intended to find new polyfunctional substituted heterocyclic aromatic amines for agrochemicals as well.

Primary and secondary 5-(alkyloxy)thianthrenium perchlorates: characterization with 1H NMR spectroscopy, reactions with iodide and bromide ion, and thermal decomposition in solutions

Article Abstract:

Secondary and primary 5-(alkyloxy)thianthrenium perchlorates have been characterized through use of 1H NMR spectroscopy. The reactions with iodide and bromide ion have been studied as has thermal decomposition in solutions. A stereogenic center in the alkyl group brings on lack of equivalence in the electrons which would usually be paired in the thianthrenium ring.
