Supercritical biocatalysis

Article Abstract:

Several studies have been carried out to examine biocatalytic reactions in supercritical fluids. Several factors influencing these reactions have been considered. These include water concentration, solvent utilized and density. Experimental results have significantly advanced scientists' understanding of using supercritical fluids in place of organic solvents. Findings have also demonstrated the various benefits of supercritical fluids as biocatalysts.

The organometallic chemistry of carbon dioxide

Article Abstract:

A survey of the published literature on complexes containing carbon dioxide bound to metal centers is presented. The review, which excludes metallocarboxylate acids and esters, covers the synthetic methods, structure, bonding, spectral properties and behavior of soluble metal-CO2 complexes while undergoing thermolysis, photolysis, oxygen transfer and reactions with nucleophiles.

Catalysis research of relevance to carbon management: progress, challenges, and opportunities

Article Abstract:

This review summarizes the deliberations of a workshop colloquium on the "opportunities for catalysis research in carbon management". Research progress within the context of greenhouse gas/carbon issues in the areas of hydrogen generation and utilization, carbon dioxide activation, catalysis research to further our search for new and more efficient catalytic processes.
