Total synthesis of oxyacyclic macrodiolide natural products

Article Abstract:

Total syntheses of macrodiolides containing oxyacyclic rings, which exhibit many different bioactivities, was discussed and described. Various macrodiolides like pamamycin, amphidinolide, swinholide, glucolipsin A, tartrolon B, cyclic hemiketal and cyclic acetal macrodiolides were synthesized and studied.

Total synthesis of alpha-pyrone meroterpenoids, novel bioactive microbial metabolites

Article Abstract:

The total synthesis of acyl-CoA/cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT)-inhibiting alpha-pyrone meroterpenoids, designated as pyripyropenes and acetylcholinesterase (AChE)- inhibiting arisugacins is described. A collection of microorganisms is screened for metabolites that selectively inhibit ACAT and AChE.
