Trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane derivatives as chiral reagents, scaffolds, and ligands for catalysis: applications in asymmetric synthesis and molecular recognition

Article Abstract:

Trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane (trans-DACH) is a symmetrical diamine useful as a low-cost chiral reagent and catalytic ligand and produced as a byproduct of the purification of 1,6-hexanediamine, as in Nylon 66 manufacture. It is widely useful in synthetic chemistry, including peptide binding, biomolecular mimicry, hydride ion transfer, and the production of agents for radioimmunotherapy and other biomedical applications.

Coumarins in polymers: from light harvesting to photo-cross-linkable tissue scaffolds

Article Abstract:

The use of coumarin containing polymers in electro-optical studies and the development of photoreversible polymer systems are presented. Polymeric applications has increased and this growth can be attributed to the intriguing properties of the coumarin family, including conventional reaction chemistry to incorporate the groups on a number of different base molecules.

Rather exotic types of cyclic peroxides: Heteroatom dioxiranes

Article Abstract:

The heteroatom-containing dioxiranes are effective oxidative agents. The study of structures and synthesis of dioxiranes indicate that these are cyclic peroxides with hydrogen, halogen, alkyl and aryl substituents.
