Transport in proton conductors for fuel-cell applications: Simulations, elementary reactions, and phenomenology

Article Abstract:

The transport properties of presently available and emerging materials that have the potential to be used as the electrolyte for fuel cells are discussed. The current understanding of the underlying elementary processes and a phenomenological description of the resulting macroscopic transport phenomena are mainly focused.

Scientific aspects of polymer electrolyte fuel cell durability and degradation

Article Abstract:

The various scientific aspects of durability and degradation of the polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells, the common energy conversion devices are discussed. These cells are better than energy sources with respect to performance and cost but cannot be commercialized, as it is not durable.
