Automation Outlook

Article Abstract:

Software windowing can be created through an operating system extension which allows the display screen to be divided into several sections running different programs. This does not necessarily improve productivity as information may be difficult to decipher. On small personal computer screens, windows must be overlapped, making it impossible to see one application entirely. Because of these disadvantages, vendors offering these products are experiencing difficulties marketing to a skeptical public.

Automation Outlook

Article Abstract:

1984, compared to previous years, produced fewer new products in the office automation area. Many exhibits at trade shows during the year featured the compatibility of different products in a network environment. Most new hardware systems included the Unix operating system. It is expected that office automation will become more market-oriented.
