Banks consolidate, integrate new systems

Article Abstract:

Banks are developing new services and products that they offer to existing customers to increase revenues. The move comes in the wake of mergers and the realization that they cannot get brand new customers at a very high business level. Thus, support managers should always be ready for changes in the information technology structure. Also, banks are transforming their branches into customer data centers which is one of the biggest challenging issues in the industry.

Utility deregulation begins, IT support issues emerging

Deregulation of the electric utility industry is creating opportunities and challenges for IT support departments within the industry and its end customers. IT support departments are faced with the challenge of integrating new systems with legacy systems and ensure that the integration enhances the bottomline and competitiveness. The new systems include devices for monitoring usage patterns and load profiles of large customers.
