Before you leap

Article Abstract:

A successful electronic commerce site requires more than an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and a hosting service. It requires expertise in electronic marketing. Many hosting services are available, but their marketing advice does not go far beyond telling how to purchase a few banner ads and get the site listed on a search engine. Portals are a better choice than a local ISP because they can offer exposure to millions of potential customers. Yahoo's Yahoo Store e-merchant service is easy to use and a quick way to get a successful e-commerce site up and running.

Organic wastes as fertilizers: interest in organic residues blossoms as environmental concerns increase

Article Abstract:

The concerns of the environmental movement have led to renewed interest in using organic wastes as fertilizers. In contrast to commercial fertilizers, livestock manure is a readily available nutrient source and its use has reduced water pollution. Sludge application for agricultural and forest land is done to enrich nitrogen and phosphorus content of the soil. Composting of sludge, manures and municipal solid waste is another environmentally safe technique for landscaping, and in turf greenhouses and nursery industries.
