Edward Eliscu

Article Abstract:

Lyricist, producer, actor and writer Edward Eliscu worked his way through City College in New York, NY, by directing amateur plays for the Young Mens' Hebrew Association. He made his Broadway acting debut in the 1924 production 'Quarantine.' He was involved in writing songs for the 1929 production 'Great Day,' and in 1930 collaborated with film composer Nacio Herb Brown on songs for 'One Heavenly Night' and 'Whoopee.' He was president of the Songwriters Guild of America for five years from 1968.

A typical life cycle of an installation of a control system does not flow smoothly. Requirements of the plant for future as well as current processing must be thought out prior to design. Misinterpretations and miscommunications happen frequently. All the proper resources must be available at the outset to allow for a smooth transistion from old system to new. A chart is included which shows a normal life cycle.

Picturing Afghan women

Article Abstract:

The depiction of the Afghan women in AP (Associated Press) photographs during the Taliban regime and after of the fall of Taliban regime is analyzed. Findings indicate that despite signs of visual subordination and framing stereotypes, women after the fall of the Taliban regime are portrayed as more involved, interactive, more socially intimate and symbolically equal to the viewer.
