A fire on Thanksgiving day, 1982, in Minneapolis destroyed Banco Mortgage Company's Datapoint loan processing equipment worth $500,000 and 4,000 loan files. Branch offices were able to replace the files, and processing was temporarily continued at another processing location using software backup that had been stored off-site. Datapoint supplied installation and systems personnel and had a shipment of processors and disk drives enroute from San Antonio the following Monday. By Tuesday a new system a new system was established and running.

After making a cost-benefit study comparing SPI Lighting system fixtures to fluorescent recessed lighting, Teledyne has installed SPT's system. The system consists of various units using metal halide high intensity discharge lamps. A savings of $132,657 can be realized in ten years of operation. An Oxidata Microline 82A printer is used for printing stock price graphs from 750 stock records. The fast reliable printer uses inexpensive three-dollar ribbon cartridges.
