DecisionOne packages midrange support offering

DecisionOne Corp has introduced a new service package called Midrange One, which will add to its separate packaged services for mainframe and desktop systems. The firm also plans to further increase its number of formalized support service offerings. The MidrangeOne services portfolio includes consulting and hardware support for systems such as IBM's AS/400 and RS/6000 lines, Digital's VAX and Alpha servers/workstations, Sun Microsystems' Sparcstations and Hewlett-Packard's 9000 series. It also provides support for peripherals attached to these systems.

Banc One strikes up outsourcing alliance

Article Abstract:

Banc One Corp has entered into an information technology alliance with AT and T Solutions and IBM Corp. The fused network and data center created and managed by AT and T and IBM will allow Banc One to offer advanced services such as online banking, automatic teller service and customer call centers to its clients. The alliance also allows Banc One to save more than $100 million over the next six years, instead of building and managing its own network.
