Developing International Standards for Cards

Article Abstract:

There are an estimated 1,000,000,000 cards used throughout the world. These cards are primarily used for credit. Retail stores, banks and gas stations are the primary users of these cards. The three types of standards for cards are NTT, JIS and ISO. The Industrial System Sub-committee has indicated its support for the ISO format. Changes to the ISO format allow for multifunctions, security and diversification. Diagrams illustrate the different standards.
