Dust Collects on 80 Per Cent of Video Software Releases

Article Abstract:

A recent survey shows that there is a 1,000 piece inventory with a value between $40,000 and $50,000 for each rental software display. To control this inventory, the dealer would determine the average turns-per-piece rate and then compute the inventory and value of depreciation. He can either reduce slow movers by replacement, or promotion and multi-store operations can rotate inventory. Three graphs show the Cost of Low Turns, Incremental Revenue Improvements, and Rate of Return on Inventory vs Average Turns and Charge Rates Monthly.

The three big video store franchises are The Video Station, National Video and Video Connection. Franchises normally deal directly with manufacturers and therefore can charge less.
