EDS launches Network Computing Services

Article Abstract:

EDS, based in Plano, TX, officially introduced its Network Computing Services division in Nov 1998 to provide desktop management services that simplify software updates. By leveraging industry-standard hardware and software including its own proprietary process models, Network Computing Services offers a wide range of desktop services to its customers. The division claims that its desktop services cut down update time in weeks instead of months.

Onyx promises customer support with Primus

Article Abstract:

Onyx Software and Primus have agreed to pool their expertise to help Onyx Software customers find solutions to computer glitches more quickly. The agreement will combine Primus' problem solving software with Onyx's customer care software. The combination will allow customer service representatives to easily capture and reuse solutions, while customers will be able to find solutions on the Web.

Quintus Corp of Fremont, CA, has launched its Q2K support services for help desks and call centers. Q2K is a set of consulting services for assessing technical support centers to ensure that operators are ready for the increased number of calls in the event of glitches related to the year 2000 bug. The consulting service fee runs between $50,000 to $100,000.
