Electronic Filing Systems as a Part of Office Automation

Article Abstract:

Electronic filing systems consist of image files that store and retrieve information in an image form. Most image systems use photographic film. Image input is achieved through video cameras; output is displayed on a CRT screen. The image information files consist of microfilm, optical disks, and video tapes. Electronic filing systems are being incorporated into office automation (OA) systems in order to develop systems that provide quick and easy operation. Tables and graphs reflect the purpose, function, and process of image files.
