Gartner grabs Griggs-Anderson

Gartner Consulting, a unit of Stamford, CT-based Gartner Group Inc, has acquired Griggs-Anderson Research Inc, an information technology (IT) consulting and research firm based in Portland, OR. Griggs-Anderson specializes in large-scale surveys and research on high-technology companies and has an annual revenue of $15 million in 1998. It is also the largest of Gartner Consulting's acquisitions in 1998, which included Mentis Corp, an IT research firm specializing in the financial services industry.

SAP snags AMC's call center technology

Article Abstract:

SAP AG announced that it has acquired the call center technology of AMC Development LLC. As part of its Focus initiative, SAP aims to provide customers with integrated back- and front-end technology that they need in improving support and service to their own customers. The acquisition also deepens an existing relationship between both companies. The AMC technology was developed for the SAP market, using R/3 language and meets SAP specifications.

Bendata taps Goldmine

Article Abstract:

Help desk software developer Bendata Inc has announced a deal to merge with SFA solutions provider Goldmine Software. Under the deal, Bendata parent Ixchange will pay $83 million for Goldmine and then launch an IPO of the merge entity to be called Goldmine Software Inc. The two companies are considered as leaders in the small- to mid-range implementations market.
