The five-day Gitex '99 show in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Oct 30, 1999, attracted 465 exhibitors representing 1,500 companies from 35 countries. The event featured a broad array of information technology products covering the areas of print technology, document management, office electronics, computer software, hardware and accessories, networking and communications. Computer Shopper displayed the latest video games software and hardware, Canon Inc launched roughly 25 new office electronics products, Pioneer Corp displayed its latest home and automotive electronics products and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co offered a range of ruggedized notebook computer models.

Brother International rolls out latest office products at Gitex '99

Brother International displayed its latest line of automated office equipment at the Gitex '99 trade show held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Oct 30, 1999. Many of the machines featured six-in-one, multifunctional features, such as the MFC-8600 which provides fax, laser printer, copier, scanner, computer fax and video capture functions. Other products included the 512KB-memory IntelliFAX-770 plain paper facsimile machine, a versatile electronic labeling system and a variety of cost-effective laser printers.
