Hitachi technology cultivates projectors that test limits in brightness, portability

Article Abstract:

Hitachi America Ltd has launched its new lineup of projectors. The CP-X960 offers true XGA resolution, a maximum brightness of 1,800 ANSI lumens, and performs electronic keystone correction picture-in-picture and freeze frame functions. The ultra-portable 10-lb CP-S840W and CP-S860W offers 800 lumens and 1,700 lumens, respectively. The CP-S830W features three 0.9- inch polysilicon, active matrix thin-film transistor panels and delivers true SVGA resolution and 500 lumens.

Powerful projector brightness, compact peripherals highlight Elmo's line

Article Abstract:

Elmo Co Ltd has introduced two new data projectors. The 6.9-kg EDP-6200 ultra-brigt multimedia projector uses a 150W UHP lamp and three 1.3-inch polysilicon active matrix with microlens for the LCD panel. The model is compatible with NTSC, PAL and SECAM formats and provides true XGA, SVGA resolution plus compressed UXGA and SXGA resolution. The 1.1kg HD-85XG desktop presenter uses 1/3-inh 850,000-pixe progressive scanning CCD and transfers images at 15 frames per second.

Designers cultivate excellent brightness, portability for U.S.-bound multimedia projectors

Article Abstract:

The North American market for projectors is expected to reach 365,000 units with a value of $1.13 billion in 1999. The models with the biggest demand in the North American market are those that weigh 10 lbs or less, offer 1,000 lumens (ANSI), and cost $5,000 - $10,000. These include Proxima's LX1, Sony's VLP-PX1, Hitachi's CP-X940W and Toshiba's TLP650.
