Hitachi Develops Language for AI, Logic-Based Systems

Article Abstract:

Hitachi has developed a logic-oriented language inferencer (LONLI) language for artificial intelligence applications. A computer is able to build a data base based on inferences from previous tasks. To create LONLI, Hitachi has enhanced the PROLOG logic-oriented inference language by adding more joint library functions, Chinese characters, a relational data base and other capabilities. LONLI is faster and has more memory than the PROLOG system. Ten times more efficient than FORTRAN, it can be interfaced with applications in that language also.
