Inacom follows Asset RollCall service with Asset ROI

Article Abstract:

Inacom Corp of Omaha, NE, is launching two new services for asset analysis. The company will initially offer its Asset RollCall service for the capture and analysis of an organization's technology and asset information. The service can be purchased for a one-time analysis, as a part of a long-term technology management program, or as a quarterly subscription service. Inacom will also introduce its Asset Roll Call service in the 1st half 1997. The service involves the calculation of a three-year total-cost-of-ownership model based on the client's inventory.

Vanstar to merge with Inacom; deal would create $800M ISP

Article Abstract:

Inacom Corp announced that it has agreed to merge with Vanstar Corp. The deal would create a company with more than 12,000 employees with annual revenues of $7 billion. It would also create the US' largest independent provider of computer services worth $800 million. Vanstar CEO Bill Tauscher would become a member of Inacom's board of directors once the merger hurdles regulatory and shareholder approval. Vanstar was among the first valued-added resellers to heavily target the IT services sector.

Streamlining certification management

Computer-based assessment and certificaton services company Galton Technologies of Provo, UT, has launched its Web-based administration system called CertManager. The tool is an Internet-based management system that help companies track users and report on certification progress. The total setup cost is around $50,000, depending on the size of the project, which includes database design, construction, Web interface development, training and customization.
