Low-Cost Intelligent Copier-Printer Uses Electrophotographic Technology To Produce High-Quality Text, Graphics

Article Abstract:

Kentek Information Systems Inc. has recently introduced its new K-2 intelligent copier-printer priced below 10,000 dollars. The K-2 can select the proper page size, print orientation and multiple fonts. It also generates complex vector graphics, statistical symbols, line drawings and scientific and technical diagrams. Data of text and graphics from almost any computer system can be directed into the K-2. The K-2 has a Motorola 68000 microprocessor with a five and one-quarter floppy diskette drive. Its electrophotographic technology can support either a single workstation or an entire network. Paper from sixteen to forty-six pound bond can be used in the printer. It can print eight and one-half by eleven inch sheets at the rate of twelve per minute. A photograph of the copier is included.

New Xerox Copier Brings High Quality to Casual Users

Article Abstract:

The new 1090 Marathon copier from Xerox offers a variable range of reduction and enlargement between sixty-four and 155 percent of original. Up to nine sets of job instructions can be stored in memory, and it can be programmed to add front and back covers, insert divider sheets, and switch paper supply trays when one becomes empty. The 1090 Marathon sells for $85,000, or may be rented for $2,148 per month. A photograph of the new copier is included.

Color Copier Offers Controlled Exposure, Zoom Reduction and Enlargement Capabilities

Article Abstract:

Toshiba's new Chroma Touch BD-4121 photocopier copies in red, blue, brown and black. The desktop unit offers zoom reduction and enlargement, a Visual Image Projection feature, and an Automatic Controlled Exposure capability. It will be priced at $3,500 and available in early 1985. A photograph of the copier is included.
