New ROM Gives Portable Computer Desk Top Power

Article Abstract:

Sharp Electronics, United Kingdom, has announced a new product called EasyPack. EasyPack is a read only memory cartridge for the Sharp PC 5000 portable computers. EasyPack contains a series of software packages including word processing, spreadsheets and communications software. The software was developed for Sharp by Basic Software Group of Canada. The cartridge is easily installed in the computer.

Handheld Computer Gives Desk-Top Power

Husky Computers Limited has developed the Husky Hunter. The Husky Hunter is the smallest hand-held computer in the world. This little device can even work under water, and is the size of a book. The Husky Hunter is powered by a battery and has 208K RAM memory. The computer can also be interfaced to a mainframe computer.

Mr Peter Walker Gives Go-Ahead for Wind Generator

Article Abstract:

The government will finance a wind electrical generator in Wales for three million dollars. 160 kilowatts will be the power output, allowing for five megawatts. This output will power 2,000 homes. Wind energy is a natural source to be able to meet current and future energy needs of England.
