The DECmate III has been added to Digital Equipment's DECmate family. The workstation is designed for clerical workers, managers, and professionals handling large amounts of text. Priced at $2,695, the DECmate III includes a keybord, monitor, system unit, and WPS word processing software. The LQP03 letter quality printer, costing $1,395, has also been introduced. The DECmate III may be used as an integrated office terminal with other DEC machines. Options include an integral 300-1,200 baud modem, a Zilog Z-80 microprocessor allowing the addition of DECspell, and the addition of CP-M-based office applications. A photograph of the DECmate III is included.
