Computer parts suppliers are looking to the Internet as their next market amidst the trend of falling prices and increasing market for specialized computer parts. Online selling enables suppliers to unload their inventories to market at lower costs. In addition, repair services use the Internet to search for the best prices and difficult-to-find computer parts. Among the suppliers with their own Web sites are PowerSource Online, Cerplex PartSmart Nwtwork and PC ServiceSource's PC PartsNet.

Citizen gets aggressive with quarantee program

Computer printer maker Citizen America Corp of Santa Monica, CA, has launched its Busines Guarante Program. Under the program, the company is assuring VARs, resellers and end users an immediate response to damaged or defective printers and parts within 24 hours of call. Citizen also said that the swap will be free for warranted products, while products past warranty will be repaired for a flat-rate less thant the cost of the product's motherboard.

Touch screen monitor maker Elo TouchSystems Inc. has developed the "Web Tech" interactive system for its online technical support. The system acts as a "virtual technician" and guides users through the process of installing a touchscreen. Elo TouchSystems used Trellix Corp.'s Trellix 2.0 software to populate a tree-path trouble shooting guide with the need for an HTML programmer.
