Personal Communications Computer Combines IBM-Compatible PC and Multiline Digital Telephone

Article Abstract:

Rolm Corp. has developed the Cedar, a personal communications computer. The communications device consists of an IBM PC-compatible computer and a multiline digital telephone. A feature of the PC is built-in communications hardware and software. The computer's communications capabilities and personal communications software can be customized. Computers and data bases can be accessed via pre-stored terminal profiles. The product sells for $4,245 when purchased in quantities of 100. A photograph is included.

Electronic Typing Station Combines Text-Editing and Other Secretarial-Office Functions

Article Abstract:

Utilizing a 320KB disk drive for storage, the Panasonic KX-E828 electronic typing station combines text editing with routine office functions. Text revision is done through Panasonic's AT-LAS program containing SpellScan and an address file. Options include a TeleCommunications package and a ten key numeric pad. The KX-E828 AT-LAS combination is priced at $2,495. A photograph of the product is included.

Sperry Univac has introduced the Sperrylink, designed for medium to large organizations. This package includes a desk station with display screen and keyboard, printers, and electronic mail. A Voice Information Processing System is also introduced. The Sperrylink can stand alone or be part of a cluster.
