Retail telephone sales are expected to be as high as 35 million units by year's end. Consumers are demonstrating a preference for traditional phone models. The cordless segment of the market is experiencing some confusion due to the FCC ruled frequency changeover from 5 to 10 bands. Feature phone sales are expected to improve as consumer awareness grows. The sales growth rate for answering machines is expected to be fifty percent annually.
