Audio accessories are a profitable area and should be treated as such. They should be where the customer can touch them, be given advertising space, looked at as part of the whole sale, and be supplied by a company that will support them. Some companies talked with in the article were G. C. Murphy Discount Chain, CMC Corp., Mace Electronics, Meier & Frank chain, Pfanstiehl and Nortoronics in locations throughout the United States.

Computer product shortages are continuing to account for lost sales. Some important products are beginning to reach dealers. Commodore 64's and their disk drives should be plentiful. Peripheral shortages, in after holiday sales, could be a major problem. A graph of hardware and software markets is included.

Telephone and Accessory Sales Due to Skyrocket

Article Abstract:

AT&T has predicted new-phone sales will be ten million units for this year. Prices will drop due to an influx of foreign systems. However, fewer than ten per cent of Americans own their own phones. Retailers have to become more involved and knowledgeable in telephone sales.
