Portable terminal features laser scanner

Article Abstract:

Fujitsu Ltd. markets Team Pad 7100 portable terminal, which has a high-end laser scanner and is compatible with wireless local area networks of single-star configurations as well as with other networks. The product, which sells for $1,489, is also easy to use and works at temperatures of down to -20 degrees Celsius. In Japan, the company is marketing the Piccolo FHT211E entry-level portable terminal, whcih also features a laser scanner as well as a vibrating device for read confirmation. The product, which sells for $1,333, is expected to significantly contribute to the company's combined target sales of 100,000 units.

Fujitsu Limited offers the Conbrio multimedia information service terminal for retailers. The terminal provides information and settles electronic transations. A touch-screen panel lets users easily obtain information such as the status of reservations and events. The terminal can be connected to a network, thereby allowing users to order products from online shopping menus and receive automated settlement services using cash or a credit card. Simple and compact in design, the Conbrio accommodates several options including a card reader, card issuer, receipt printer, laser printer and cash unit.
