Private Satellite Network Links Remote Locations with Processing Site as Telephone Line Alternative

Article Abstract:

As an alternative to leased telephone lines, Equatorial Communications has developed a private interactive data communications network for transaction processing applications. The network is designed for private corporate data networks for their inquiry-response and data collection applications. The network supports terminal-to-host computer and terminal-to-terminal communications. Priced at $6,000, the product features an approximately four-foot transmit-receive micro earth station. The company is presently shipping more than 200 units per month and estimates 1985 production will total roughly 3,000 units. A photograph of the product is shown.

Armstrong Produces New Generation of Ceiling Products

Article Abstract:

Armstrong World Industries recently introduced a new generation of acoustical ceiling products. Innovative high technology design and manufacturing technology are inherent in celing panels with a textured visual, a product with Class A fire protection, improved sag resistance, and ability to hold up in installations where humidity can reach eighty-six percent. Design features in other new ceiling products include open-celled panels for conventional grid systems, and ceiling tiles with small-scale linear scoring. A photograph shows the Designer Minaboard lay-in ceiling.
