Regency Unveils Computer Controlled Auto Scanner

Article Abstract:

A thirty-channel programmable scanner which is computer-controlled is offered by Regency Electronics Inc. It covers six bands which are low and high VHF, two FM ham bands, and UHF and VHF 't'. When the scanner finds an active frequency, it jots down a reference to it. It also has a channel lockout feature which prevents scanning by others.

It is felt that the software video dealers can justify a computer system if they have an active customer base of 500 to 1,000 accounts with 2,000 transactions a month. Guidelines that the dealer should follow are: shop software first then hardware, check for reliability problems, and plan for expansion.
