Tiny quartz filter eliminates needs for leads

Article Abstract:

Daishinku Corp.'s DSF444A series of surface-mountable quartz filters is one of the smallest in the category, with features that include a ceramic base and metal cap for the case. The filters have a dimension of 0.9mm x 3.8mm x 3.8mm and a volume of 0.014cc. Product samples cost $3.65 per unit of the filters, which work on the 130MHz band for Japan's Personal Digital system and Advanced Mobile Phone System's 45MHz band. The filters are intended for mobile communications devices such as pagers and wireless equipment.

Fujitsu General Ltd. has established a niche in the market for plasma display panels (PDPs). The products were launched initially in 1993. One of the company's latest developments is the PDS4207W-H 42 in Plasmavision PDP. This system can show DVD and VCR images and is compatible for reproducing images from practically any high-fidelity signal device. The company makes 2,000 units every month.
