Article Abstract:

Software tool developers are launching products that help managers to bridge the gap between perceived costs based on market research and analysis, and the real costs specific to single organizartion. One such product is the C/S Solution Advisor from Interpose Inc of Altamonte Springs, FL. The product was designed to measure and predict the network total costs of ownerships, and to help managers develop effective migration plans to lower costs. Other similar products are Inte-Great Corp's Property Plus and Janus Technologies Inc's Argis.

Lotus gets certified

Article Abstract:

Lotus Development Corp has obtained International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 certification for worldwide customer support. An ISO 9001 representative audited all of Lotus' 14 major customer support centers in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. Lotus' worldwide support processes were systematized with the implementation of LotusLink, which is a mix of Lotus and third-party technology. The company started its ISO 9001 certification drive in Nov 1994.

Vendors approve to train on Office 97

Article Abstract:

Microsoft Corp has approved at least 20 training vendors for its Independent Courseware Vendor (ICV) program. The software company said that participants in the program must follow its proficiency guidelines, which were created to help users prepare for the Certified Microsoft Office User program. However, ICV vendors differ in the strategy and presentation of Office 97 courses, ranging from video-based to instructor- led training.
