Training and Education: Training Programs Need Evaluation

Article Abstract:

Training programs should always have some kind of evaluation. Evaluations are made from four perspectives: user reaction; technique and information assimilation; behavior modification; and tangible results. Reactions and behavior changes are classified as subjective evaluation while productivity and skills assessment are objective. A thorough evaluation includes pre-training, in- training, and post-training measurements. These measurements can be made from questionnaires, on-the-job testing with learning curves, comparison with control groups, and before-and-after productivity assessments.

Training and Education: The Responsibilities of Trainers

Article Abstract:

Instructors in office automation must identify their goods and develop resources and strategies. The techniques used depend on the number and ability of the students and the type of subject. Brainstorming is a technique for promoting as much participation in as short a time as possible. The 'Phillips 66' technique by Donald Phillips specifies allowing small groups to brainstorm for six minutes. When presenting results, each group leader adds to or modifies what has been presented, but does not repeat.
