Ohio boat dealer John Clemons feels that the new guidelines on dealer/manufacturer agreements would be beneficial for dealers. Clemons realized the loopholes in the current contract guidelines, when his contract was abruptly canceled by Four Winns, leaving him with an inventory of $800,000.

Dealers deserve more than rhetoric

The progress of contract guideline implementation has to be made clear to boat dealers by trade associations, such as National Marine Manufacturers Association, in order to improve the rapport between dealers and manufacturers. This is essential for marine industry's success.
