Arbitrator rules uin Experian's favor

Article Abstract:

Database America of Omaha, NE, must pay over $4.47 million in damages to Experian Information Systems of Orange, CA, as ruled by the American Arbitration Association. The ruling ended the dispute between the two companies over a license agreement that occurred prior to infoUSA's acquisition of DBA. DBA had claimed that Experian breached the agreement by providing the data to third parties, among other reasons. Experian, however, contended that DBA had terminated the deal without cause. Experian CEO Van Skilling said his firm is pleased with results of the arbitration, citing that the favorable decision helped steer away from lengthy and pointless litigation.
