Argentina introduces new postal code system

Article Abstract:

Argentina wull launch a new eight igit postal code on Mar 14, 1999. The new postal code system, which was based on the Canadian model, uses a combination of numbers and letters. The new code offers a fine division of the country because it goes down to the block level. The first letter identifies the province, followed by the numbers in the current code, three letters defining the block and the street number at the end. The new code will co-exist with the current codes for the next four to five years.
