Checking the numbers

Article Abstract:

Bovis Program Management (BMP) Monitoring Team Leader Kate Taylor Wimshurst finds she often has to make her clients understand their plans will not be fully met by money provided from the Lottery. Wimshurst's team ensures the recipients of Lottery grants use it wisely. The team may also be involved in overseeing and advising on work put out to tender. The BMP oversees some 160 million pounds sterling worth of construction projects. They also are involved in monitoring the purchase of other items, such as exhibits.

The scouts

Article Abstract:

The role of business development manager (BDM) is a relatively recent addition to the construction industry. Its definition is blurred and differs within the industry. Larger organisations employ BDMs to seek out growing areas of opportunity and to direct company investments appropriately. BDMs can be found at any level of company infrastructure, depending upon their exact role within the company.
