Clash points

Article Abstract:

Specialist Engineering Contractors Group Chief Executive and Barrister Rudi Klein suggests natural justice is applicable in the adjudication process used by the UK construction industry. Using natural justice as part of the adjudication process will ensure all parties feel they have been treated fairly. Major Contractors Group Director Jennie Price points out the law concerned with adjudication will have to be changed if natural justice is considered to apply in adjudication. The role of the adjudicator does not correlate with the concept of natural justice.

Urban warrior

Article Abstract:

Civic Trust Director Michael Gwilliam has been very successful at raising the status of the Civic Trust and its work in publicizing good urban design. The charity is becoming more influential and Gwilliam is often asked for his views on architectural matters by the media. He has been criticised for supporting the UK construction industry in its call for help in building on brownfield sites. Gwilliam had previously worked in planning for 30 years before taking on the role of director. Civic Trust has some 330,000 members and employs 30 full-time workers.
