Coat of many colours

Article Abstract:

Italian concern Otefal Sud is investing 1.2 million pounds sterling in the development of a new production process to make paint stick more effectively to the surface of aluminium. The new coil-coating production line is designed to produce painted aluminium panels which are resistant to filiform corrosion. The company is using anodization technology, with the aluminium being electrostatically treated to produce metallized finishes. It has attracted the attention of Alcoa, which is to develop a cladding system around the panels.
