Cross-country race

Article Abstract:

Germany's largest contractor, Philipp Holzmann, for the first time since World War II, has reported losses. Planned sales of about 4,000 rented properties may help the situation. Many of its problems are due to its property development sector. Hochtief has a large shareholding in Holzmann and is planning a takeover bid which is opposed by the European Union Monopolies Commission. Many UK, German and French contractors are looking to other countries for work which they cannot find in their own markets.
