National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) feel that the American Boating Congress, which was held in Washington, D.C. was the best one till date as the NMMA members had access to many distinguished legislatures and high-ranking public officials. Concerns related to deficit and increase in taxes dominated the session.

Boatbuilding school sets the standard

The Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design in Kennebunkport, Maine, which is a model for other marine education programs, is overviewed. Information on the hands-on training for prospective boat builders, technicians and designers, and the school's curriculum, is presented.
