Some $14 billion is being spent on the construction of a two mile tunnel under Boston, Massachusetts. The Central Artery/Tunnel will replace part of Interstate Highway 93. Whilst building work is carried out underground the roadway in Boston is still being used by the traffic. The work should be finished by 2005.

Enough facilities for technology and media businesses could be erected by the end of 2001 to provide employment for up to 14,000 people.

Issues concerning the necessity to reopen the debate about building houses on the green belt of cities are discussed. It is emphasized that agribusiness has left the countryside bare of wild life and that the towns suffer from overcrowding.
