Digest sends readers Chrysler offer

Article Abstract:

Reader's Digest subscribers will receive a personalized offer from Auburn Hills, MI-based Chrysler, on its back page. The offer, which comes in the form of a reverse z-gatefold, is for Chrysler's Sebring line and is part of the issue that was released in late Sep 2000. The z-gatefold contains the name and mailing address of the recipient rinted alongside a short personalized message. Chrysler argeted all of Reader's Digest subscribers since the majority of its database fit the demographic for Sebring owners.

Sanyo's print campaign looks to add a little color

Sanyo Fisher Co has launched a print campaign for the Sprint PCS Phone SCP-5000 in Apr 2001. The campaign will focus on ads in consumer publications, in-flight magazines and newspapers. The phone is the first mobile phone available in the US with a color display. The ads direct consumers to get more information by visiting the Sprint or Sanyo Web sites, calling a toll-free number or visiting a local Sprint retail location.

Boating retailer rides 40% sales wave

Reed's Marine, a Delavan, WI-based boating retailer, reported a 40% increase in 1998 sales, mainly due to its shift from traditional advertising to direct marketing. The company's co-owner said that the refocus gave the it a more personalized approach and a higher response rate. The newsletters were designed by Dockside Rudder, which specializes in publications for boat dealers.
