The pricing pressure will continue for marine distributors in the coming years and will be aided by digital technology, according to Michael Marks. Marks, a featured speaker at the National Marine Distributors Assn STEP Conference in Orlando, FL, added that the development will lead to a changed landscape for the industry's middlemen. Marks believes that the companies that will survive the coming shakeout will be those that will be able to adopt what he calls the seven basic traits of success.
