E-mail database tops 450 million records

Article Abstract:

Impower reported that its ImpowerBase e-mail prospecting database has surpassed the 450 million record mark in mid-Jan 2001. The database aggregates data from every e-mail address on the market and is audited by the company's Score rating system, which ranks the level of permission used to accumulate the e-mail names. The Princeton, NJ-based company also noted that though the percentage of low-quality lists has dropped, it represents 20% of all lists on the market.

Cognitronics: screeninn tests a success

Cognitronics Corp of Danbury, CT, has announced that laboratory tests of its new call-screening system were successful. An unspecified major telecommunication service provider conducted the analysis for the company. Cognitronics' screening system ask callers to identify themselves before ringing a consumer's line. The consumer can accept or reject the call, send it to a voice-mail system or return a request to be placed on the telemarketer's do-not-call list.

Tourism informercial boasts strong ROI

Falls Church, VA-based Frederiksen Television has created a successful television infomercial which has promotes attractions in the Williamsburg, VA, area since 1995. Statistics released by the company and its clients indicate that the infomercial has produced an average annual return on investment of $37.40 per marketing dollar spent since 1995. The data also shows that nearly 300,000 people have visited the area since 1995 because they saw the infomercial.
