U.S. judge orders DiDonato to drop Egg Harbor name

Article Abstract:

Egg Harbor Yacht Company In's new owner, Ira Trocki, has won a legal battle against the company's former owner, John DiDonato, over the use of the company's name and trademark. In a decision by the District Court in Camden, NJ, released in Jan 10, 2000, Trocki has been allowed to call his boats Egg Harbors, while DiDonato cannot. Trocki bought Egg Harbor from a state-appointed receiver for $1.45 million in Nov 1999.

Egg Harbor, Cavileer settle court battle over naming rights

Article Abstract:

Egg Harbor Yacht Company Inc owner Ira Trocki and John DiDonato, owner of Cavileer Yachts, have settled a legal battle over the use Egg Harbor's name and trademark. Trocki, who bought Egg Harbor's assets in Nov 1999, won a key round in the legal dispute in Feb 2000 when the federal court gave him the right to the company's name. While the case was going on, both companies also had been readying their boatbuilding operations.

Industry, consumers oppose PFD mandate

The reasons that prompted the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to have a discussion on personal floatation devices (PFD) at the NTSB academy on August 25 have been discussed. The probable impact of a law that requires boat riders to wear compulsory personal floatation device on the boating industry has been described.
