UPS to assist online grocers

Article Abstract:

Roadnet Technologies Inc, a unit of the UPS Logistics Group, has began offering its services to online grocery stores. Grocers, which include GroceryWorks.com, Streamline.com, HomeGrocer.com and Albertsons.com, are being offered end-to-end solutions that guarantees same-day and next-day deliveries to customers. These services include daily scheduling and routing of manned deliveries, wireless dispatch, driver support and delivery trucking.

FedEx expands package returns system to the Web

Article Abstract:

Federal Express Corp, based in Memphis, TN, in early Oct 2000 introduced enhancements to FedEx Express package returns system, FedEx NetReturn. FedExReturn, which was launched in 1997, is the first package return technology in the industry. Starting in November, the improvements will allow businesses to further streamline the return process. The enhancements rival the features of an online returns system unveiled in September by Atlanta, GA-based United Parcel Service of America Inc.

FedEx extends pickup, drop-off times

Article Abstract:

Federal Express Corp announced that it will offer later times for shipping packages via FedEx Express in the US, Toronto, Ontario, and Europe beginning Feb 26, 2001. Called FedEx Extra Hours, the service will allow select customers with regularly scheduled pickups and customers who drop off shipments to extend their business day by up to three hours in major markets.
